[Species Name] Wicked Twinwhirler
[Class] Strike
[Fire Type] Short but wide cone of lightning
[Features] Two tails from which they get their name is probably the most notable feature. Have very long, skinny wings and neck while a two pronged horn tips their snout. Rather short widespread feet with long claws support the spined body.
[Habitat] Mountain peaks or cliffsides. Prefer living inland but have been found near the ocean.
[Colors] Anywhere between black to silver base scales with a paler belly. Some have scales tinged with brown but all have bright cyan stripes starting about halfway down and getting both thicker and closer together the closer they get to the tail tip. A similar blue shades their throat and glows when charged with electricity. The eyes are usually yellow but can also be orange or very rarely red.
[Scale] Slightly smaller than a Zippleback, easily large enough to carry a full grown viking.
[Trainability] Relatively easy, if you can get to one.

[Speed] 16
[Armor] 12
[Firepower] 8
[Shot Limit] 1
[Venom] 0
[Jaw Strength] 6
[Stealth] 11
Whip Tail: The striped whiplike tail tips from which the Twinwhirlers derive their names grows throughout the dragon’s life, usually averaging between 2 and 3 times the dragon’s total wingspan. These tails can be lashed independently of one another and with incredible speeds causing horrendous lacerations, burns and even breaking bones. A single hit is more than enough to knock out a small animal and two can stun even the hardiest of Vikings.
Lightning: The system for charging this ability begins with them absorbing static electricity from movement such as rubbing their tails or wings together, this energy is then stored for later use within a special insulated organ in the throat. They can use this energy in two ways. First they carry the current along the spines at their backs until it reaches the tail where it gives a nasty shock when the tip makes contact with their prey. Alternatively they can release this energy through the mouth as a short range breath weapon, though this is usually reserved as a last ditch defence or to display to prospective mates.
Agility and Speed: In true Strike class fashion Twinwhirlers are built for speed. They may not be as fast as a Skrill or Night Fury but they can easily outpace most of the more common dragons. They can also preform tight circles and aerial front or back flips but tend to have a bit of a harder time maneuvering on the ground.
Strength and Combat: An angry Twinwhirler can be quite the fierce opponent. Their ability to attack from multiple angles, and the speed with which they make said attacks makes them particularly dangerous.
Stamina and Endurance: Uniquely adapted to high altitudes, Twinwhirlers can easily fly much higher than most other dragon breeds. They can fly for very long at high speeds but tend to tire quickly while running or fighting.
Senses: Have very finely tuned senses, especially sight. Can easily pick up a sheep or goat (their favourite prey) from over two miles away.
Intelligence: Like most Strike class dragons, Twinwhirlers are quite bright, and notoriously good at weaselling out of various traps and cages. They pick up on tricks and commands incredibly quickly and are known to hold lifelong grudges against those who have harmed them.
Twinwhirlers are almost always found in pairs (usually mates) who hunt together, live together and protect each other with their lives. Parents take care of the young until the Shortwing stage where they are then kicked, sometimes forcibly, out of the nest. The youngsters will then hunt and live in packs until they become Broadwings when they then find a mate and continue the cycle anew. Most Titanwings lose their life partners and become too large to take a new one, making these particular dragons sullen and very aggressive. Other than that though Twinwhirlers are anything but wicked, rarely going out of their way to harm Vikings aside from the occasional sheep or yak theft. Most tend to be quite skittish, wary and will rarely land near anything they deem dangerous, though Shortwings do have quite the curious streak to them and can be persuaded to come down with kindness, patience and plenty of food.
Have absolutely no night vision to speak of and with enough silence are quite easily ambushed. While they are excellent climbers they do not turn well when grounded. Belly scales are much softer than the rest of their scales and targeting the throat can cripple their ability to use electricity for life.
Unless a Broadwing is partnerless they can be near impossible to tame, due to their unshakable loyalty to those they love. Twinwhirlers have no qualms about choosing a Viking or even a different dragon species as their lifelong companions and will follow through any hardship to see their partner loved and safe. Trained Twinwhirlers are very affectionate and (Shortwings especially) are prone to becoming extremely lonely and depressed if not given proper love and attention. Any Viking who wants to give all they have to a dragon and get all they give in return would be the perfect companion for a Twinwhirler.
