Together we Map the World is a canon and OC forum that takes place directly after the first film left off, behaving as if the series and second film after never happened. With a wealth of locations, dragons, and characters to choose from, the possibilities are endless. What the tides of storytelling will do with these building blocks is up to you. How far will you go?
[Personality] They say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - and if you know what his father Spitelout acts like, then you know what Snotlout acts like. At first glance, he's a cocky, spitfire bully with an ego the size of the Archipelago, and at second glance... well, nothing changes about that, really. He is highly arrogant, bordering on narcissistic, and prone to grandiose delusions of perfection, popularity and extreme attractiveness - and consequentially, his egomania causes him to have a huge problem with authority or being able to admit responsibility for his mistakes.
Those who try to take the time to know him might develop some sympathy, however. It's well-known that Spitelout has placed great pressure on his son to meet his own sky-high standards. Deep down, Snotlout's insecure, both from emotional blows landed by his father and the constant ridicule and dismissal of his actions from everybody else in the village. What he wants most is to be heard and praised, but when that happens, it only serves to inflate his ego even more, starting the vicious cycle anew.
[Backstory] Most of this is known! After Hiccup successfully ended the Red Death and Berk's war with the dragons, Snotlout began to bond with Hookfang, and thus far has taken a special pride in practicing tricks with his new, equally arrogant dragon.
[Temperment] Hookfang mirrors Snotlout in many respects. Both are bold, fiery, and readily pick fights with others. Hookfang actually can be agreeable at times, but he only tends to show his softer side when shown proper respect. This, unfortunately, is not something Snotlout has yet learned, so the two grate on one another constantly, to the point where some people make jokes about how Hookfang's been trained to do the exact opposite of whatever Snotlout says.
Despite this, he does still care for Snotlout, even if it's hidden beneath a veil of hissing and flame. He laughs (or, at least, gets as close to a laugh as a Nightmare can) when Snotlout hurts himself or does something equally stupid, but he doesn't want to see his rider dead.
[Backstory] Hookfang was once one of the many dragons fighting for the Red Death. Young and inexperienced, he was captured by the Berkains. He expected to die, but instead awoke to find himself in an unfamiliar, cramped cave with a single wooden door. He would be kept there for many months. Only once was he released into the ring, in a fight against Hiccup - who tried his best to keep him calm, but ultimately failed when Toothless leapt in to attack.
And from there? Well, you know the story. His relationship with Toothless is rocky at best, and though he begrudgingly admits that he understands defending that which is precious, he's still kinda pissed about the whole ordeal. Its not as though he's ever in a particularly good mood, anyway, not with the way Snotlout treats him. Since his release and subsequent bonding with Snotlout, he's spent most of his time training, learning tricks, and setting Snotlout on fire.
