Together we Map the World is a canon and OC forum that takes place directly after the first film left off, behaving as if the series and second film after never happened. With a wealth of locations, dragons, and characters to choose from, the possibilities are endless. What the tides of storytelling will do with these building blocks is up to you. How far will you go?
[Personality] Kieron is a strange sort. He is a young man that can be quite polite and civil, someone that comes off as being easy to get along with and making friends rather easily. He is rather easy-going, even to the point of coming off as rather lazy to some degree. But other than that, Kieron is a pretty chill sort of guy who enjoys a good conversation, humor, and getting to know people. But, Kieron's politeness is far from his defining characteristic.
When someone really gets to know him, they will find Kieron is rather stubborn and tenacious. When he sets his mind to something, it takes a lot to make this young man turn away from that decision and he will normally rebuff anyone that gets in the way of his attempts to achieve his goals. He becomes relentless in his tasks, and Kieron sometimes pushes himself far too much than truly necessary. But, his strong will and being unable to give up have helped him get through some rough times, especially at the loss of his parents over the years.
What really defines Kieron is his wit and cunning. In fact, Kieron has made a reputation for his wise cracks and being a smart ass, even to the point of being considered a troll. He isn't afraid to speak his mind and normally these statements come out as rather sarcastic, having no qualms or concerns for consequences that might come up as a result. Yet, Kieron is also pretty handy in improvising and coming up with ideas, simple or complex. But, he often does not prefer to over think things and simply tries to do what he can in the most simple, easy way as possible.
[Backstory] Kieron was born into the life of a Trapper. His father hails from a village somewhere off the coast of Italy who was drawn to the Archipelago due to newer opportunities. He actually stopped in Berk some 16 years back where he met Kieron's mother, back when dragons were enemies to even the likes of Berk. The two courted and quickly married within a year and by that time, Kieron was eventually born a month after they married, being born healthy and lively.
But, Kieron did not see his father often in the first eight years of his life, remaining on Berk with his mother where he was raised. He often spent days helping around the house, learning to fight from his mother, and spending time with the other village kids. When not doing any of these things, Kieron spent a lot of time around the fishermen of Berk, learning their skills since it was not much different from his own father's occupation. And when his father was home, he was teaching Kieron the ways of trapping, especially dragons, and telling the young boy about his many adventures. Unfortunately, after the age of nine Kieron had no choice but to accompany his father as his mother soon passed from an unknown disease.
Heart broken, both Gunvaldssons packed everything and abandoned Berk to the open seas, a place Kieron seemed to adjust to rather quickly. It was here that he truly began learning everything about how to navigate the seas, all there was to know about ships, catching/trapping, and tracking. The open seas is where Kieron truly found his home, his calling, and is where he grew up for the next six and a half years under his father's watchful eye.
Unfortunately, Kieron would once again find loss in his life during the hunting of a Shockjaw. This one was particularly violent and already weakened from a previous fight with a dragon that invaded its territory. The hunt was going decently, at first, with Kieron hanging back with some of the crew while his father and a few others attempted to corner the beast. But, things took a turn for the worst when the second team attempted to capture it with a steel cable net, only catching half of the dragon and ticking it off to go on a rampage. One of the casualties of that day was Kieron's father, whom he mourned among others of the crew.
After killing and selling what they could of the dragon, Kieron decided to return to Berk for a time. But upon returning, he was shocked to find dragons living among the residents of Berk, causing him to hold some anger deep down that he has easily hidden. But, at the same time, he has had a small idea to train a dragon for his own uses later.
[Temperment] Gullin is slightly different than his new owner and rider-in-training. He is quite a vain dragon, thinking his unique appearance makes him stand out among the nadders. He likes to strut around as if he’s the most beautiful thing to walk upon Berk, yet one should not be fooled. Gullin may be named for his appearance but he is quite fierce and quick tempered for a dragon as well, one that shouldn’t be underestimated. Gullin can also be a wise crack in his own way, loving jokes and pranks in his own way or using his vain ways as a distraction. Like Kieron though, he is amazingly loyal and quite cunning, and despite their differences Gullin and Kieron do share similar habits and thoughts in common.
[Backstory] Gullin is an older Nadder than most, having had his fair bit of experiences around the Archipelago over the years. But, he was once a resident of Dragon island for years, having once lived there in relative harmony with many other dragons and with avoiding previously hostile Vikings finding them. Until the “queen” of dragons appeared from no where one day, forcing him and many other dragon inhabitants to do her bidding, causing him to attack Berk and other villages despite his attempts to fight it. Several years this happened until the day Hiccup eliminated the Red Death, allowing Gullin to at last be free.
After that day, he moved to Berk with many of the other dragons and began to become both something to be awed and annoyed at. He caused many an issue due to his attitude and attempting to show off his spendor. But, when a new Viking returned to Berk, the older Nadder was introduced to Kieron, hoping one problem could be handled and to ease someone who has been away to be accepting of dragons.
